NiKlad SILK

NiKlad SILK

NiKlad SILK is an electroless nickel-phosphorous plating system that incorporates 10-20% v/v hexagonal boron nitride occluded particles in a medium phosphorous electroless nickel matrix. This unique process is designed for applications requiring lubricity, low coefficient of friction, high wear resistance, or mold release.

Operational advantage

Unlike the EN/PTFE composites, which degrade with high temperature heat treatment, NiKlad SILK deposits can be heat-treated to 850 HV hardness.

Deposit properties

Deposits obtained exhibit dry-lubrication and excellent abrasion and wear resistance. NiKlad SILK can replace hard chromium deposits in some specific applications and can be applied to a wide variety of metals.

Economic advantage

Particles from the NiKlad SILK process can be recycled and reused delivering cost reductions.
